About RADD

RADD, The Entertainment Industry's Voice for Road Safety, is an internationally recognized non-profit organization that empowers celebrities, media partners, businesses and enlightened supporters to create positive attitudes about road safety. Founded in 1986, RADD advocates the use of designated drivers, seatbelts and safe driving through control behind the wheel, making responsible behavior the norm. RADD's messages are non-judgmental, hip and positive. Best-known for “Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk,” RADD is a proud two-time recipient of the U.S. Department of Transportation's prestigious Public Service Award.

Motor vehicle crashes are the number one killer of children, teens and young adults ages 1 to 33 in the U.S. (2008 USDOT). Globally, they rank #9, but if unchecked, the World Health Organization (WHO) predicts road crashes will become the #1 killer (over AIDS) of young people by 2020. Yet, crashes aren't accidents; they are predictable and preventable.

RADD uses edutainment – music, sports, celebrity spokespeople, media access and sponsors' communication channels – to save lives and reduce injuries by raising awareness about the importance of road safety. RADD's goal is to reduce fatalities and injuries across all age groups by promoting safe, sober driving and awareness of road safety.
